Dis-Orienteering

Dis-Orienteering,  9/2/2014,  Michael N. Johns

For a long time I’ve felt lost
And there are no
Road maps that show
My direction
I only vaguely know
I’m lurching, now stopping,
Now starting, slightly off course, toward my destination.

I hate the drifting sensation
My stomach turns
The road turns
And I know
My heart yearns
Lamenting, searching,
And wishing that some roads had never been crossed.
